Hello! If you are interested in becoming involved in Panhellenic sorority life, we hope you will find a home in one of our seven chapters on campus. Sorority life offers many Southeast Missouri State undergraduate women a home away from home. Greek Life at SEMO gives you the opportunity to form bonds with your sisters to create an enriching college experience.
Recruitment is an exciting time for active sorority members and potential new members alike! Recruitment takes place during the fall semester of each school year. It is a time for sororities and potential new members to get to know each other during a formal recruitment process, and through a mutual selection process, decide on which fit is right for them! Be sure to register before the week of recruitment and pay the $25 registration fee!
Year Round Sorority Recruitment
“Dear Potential New Member,
Hello, I’m Charlotte Wente, and I am the Panhellenic Council’s VP of Recruitment and Retention. I am very excited to see your interest in sorority recruitment! Recruitment is a process in which you meet many other sorority women and potentially find the sorority that best aligns with your values and beliefs. Formal recruitment is a week-long process based on mutual selection to ease the journey of finding the right fit.
Sororities offer a support system and guidance to continuously better women throughout their four years here. SEMO Greek life also gives young women the opportunities of leadership growth and involvement in not only chapter activities, but other campus organizations as well. Sorority life enhances the overall undergraduate experience, providing its members with life-long ties to Southeast Missouri State University and life-long friendships.”

What’s a Pi Chi?
What is a Pi Chi? No, it is not another chapter on our campus.
Recruitment can be scary and stressful but also so much fun! Having someone there to help you each night makes it a little easier. That’s what a Pi Chi is there for! Pi Chis go through a number of interviews and are selected by Panhellenic as women we see best fit to guide you through this process. Each woman is disaffiliated from their own chapter, meaning they no longer wear their letters or talk to their sisters during recruitment week, but they take on the Pi Chi letters (ΠΧ). This is to allow each of you a very unbiased decision when choosing what chapter you best belong in.
Each girl that signs up for recruitment will be assigned a Pi Chi. Get to know her because she is your shoulder to lean on in your new life here at Southeast Missouri State.
We wish you all the best of luck during recruitment and can’t wait to meet you!!
